ABDUL RAHIM ABDUL HAMID IS THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF FRSIC

FRSIC is pleased to announce that Abdul Rahim Abdul Hamid has been elected as the new Chairman of FRSIC effective 15 August 2009. Abdul Rahim's engagement as Chairman ensued from his appointment as the President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants ("MIA") on 24 July 2009. He takes over the helm from Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff who retired following the completion of his term on 15 July 2009.

Abdul Rahim has more than three decades of service in public practice. He started out in Coopers & Lybrand in 1971 and became the Managing Partner/Chief Executive of the firm in 1993. In 1998, he assumed the position of Deputy Executive Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers and held it until he retired on 30 June 2004.

He is a board member of Mimos Berhad and an Independent Director of Chemical Company of Malaysia ("CCM") Berhad. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Accountancy at Universiti Teknologi MARA ("UiTM") since 2002 and is involved in an advisory capacity at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ("UKM").
